an open source architectural beadwork project from Kate McKinnon and a worldwide team of innovators
Jean and Dustin and I are getting ready for the first Geometrics photoshoot next weekend in Tucson. The amazing Kyle Cassidy is flying in, we’ve lined up stunning models (several of whom you may know) and are madly beading the most extraordinary things we can dream up.
This lovely little bit of rope is actually a coded modified RAW bellyband, set up for a five-sided Twenty Wing cuff. Both the implications and the potential of the coding are all here, lovely DNA. I can’t wait to show you the photographs, video, and finished pieces for the first wave of our ideas for this exciting technique.
So soon now!
We are still on schedule to produce our final draft in France by the end of March; this will translate into technical editing, a bit of illustration and a lot of peer review in April, with a likely press date in May, and a formal book launch and party in London in August. We’ll keep you posted, of course!
Have you pre-ordered your copy yet? The only way to get the First Edition (and associated swag, autographs, postcards and silliness) is to bang this button while you still can. Things will be getting significantly more Official after the final draft is finished, and we’ll be cutting off pre-orders, counting up Book Kit requests, and preparing to turn things over to the pros at Beadsmith /Helby Books, who will be marketing and distributing the book for us.
Pre-orders of the First Edition are available for shops and studios- check it out!
