CONTEMPORARY GEOMETRIC BEADWORK

an open source architectural beadwork project from Kate McKinnon and a worldwide team of innovators

Horned Bangle

Jean Power has interpreted the Horns in a single horned bangle. This will be one of the stepped-out projects in our book, to help teach the increases and decreases that represent corners and horns in circular peyote.

Isn’t it alluring? My mind just keeps skiing over the points, and I want to put a little charm of a skiier on it somewhere.

Note how Jean used a smaller bead in the same stitch to finish the edge of the bangle- this both neatens and slightly smallerizes the rim. So pretty!

She chose a peyote chain instead of a modified RAW bellyband to start, because she wanted to see only peyote in this narrow piece. Both are an easy option.
