CONTEMPORARY GEOMETRIC BEADWORK

an open source architectural beadwork project from Kate McKinnon and a worldwide team of innovators

Exciting news!

Huge, wonderful news for the beady world! In reviewing our massive stack of awesome, we’ve had to admit what everyone’s been saying all along- between us all, there is enough work for two full books. Heck- ten books.

Caldera Bangle, design by Jean Power, beadwork and photo by Kirsty Little

So more books it is! Jean Power is still featured proudly in Contemporary Geometric Beadwork, but she has so much more new work (than you’ve seen here or anywhere) that she has decided to make an entire other book all on her own.  We are all so excited we can hardly see straight. ROCK ON JEAN POWER!!

Contemporary Geometric Beadwork is mostly unchanged- Jean will be devoting her writing time to her own book, though, so her name is off of our cover as an author, but don’t worry- not only is all well, but the beady world gets another book! We are on schedule and full steam ahead for a Fall delivery of CGB- and I can’t wait to see the photos you all send in this month. But hurry! Just 30 days left to submit photos for our Gallery.

okay…so I have ordered from Kate’s site, and from Jean’s site. So I am getting 2 different books, yes? Very exciting I must admit! I may have to quit my day job so I can stay home and bead:)

If you ordered Contemporary Geometric Beadwork from Jean Power, don’t worry, it’s exactly what you are getting, unless you let her know that you would prefer to have her new book instead. Timescale for production is about the same- all of the work is done; we are simply arranging the layouts.

I think in her excitement Kate got it a bit backwards 🙂 …if you ordered from me you’ll be getting mine (which includes all my projects planned for CGB and at least 5 more)…unless you specify you want to get CGB

Thanks, Jean! I’ll be sending you enough CGBs to cover any of your customers who want that book, as a substitute or in addition. ❤

Oh, man, I know. It’s going to be so great. Her life’s work is just that, a life’s work, and it deserves to be presented as a collection. She is one of the most influential beaders who ever picked up a needle.
