an open source architectural beadwork project from Kate McKinnon and a worldwide team of innovators
Kate McKinnon’s Pagoda Bangle was the first piece we used to demonstrate the Elegant Guide Round (EGR), a lovely two-in-one threadpath from Volume II, Basics.
Black and ivory beads create an exciting surface pattern on a Winged and Horned bangle, and the Elegant Guide Round allows the placement of a sky-blue Underskirt. You can see many pieces using the EGR in Volume II. We bet after you try it you’ll never Stitch In The Ditch again.
Download Kate’s photographic tutorial here, in either high or low resolution, compliments of the project. This PDF was prepared before the books came out, and was released as a gift to pre-orders. Click the file you want to open a new page, then click again on the file name to open the PDF reader.

Kate, I’ve been looking forward to this book. Thanks so much for sharing this free pattern. I’ll give it a try.
Neither link seems to work–I am Apple? Not PC—it looks wonderful and would love to have it
Are you clicking again, on the page that opens? They both work for me!
I’ve been trying to open both links and neither work for me either 😦
fixed, Daria! Try again?
Great! It’s exactly what I needed to finish up a sunny day…thanks.
My pleasure!
